Will my files be safe? +
Burst+ installation completely wipes the drive. If you have files you want to keep, add the Data Copy & Restore service. If you don't add it, please back up your data yourself before sending. We take no responsibility for data not covered by the add-on.
Will my software work on Burst+? +
Most everyday software works — web browsing, email, YouTube, banking, Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Spotify, and more. Microsoft Office doesn't run natively but LibreOffice is included, and Microsoft 365 works in any browser. Adobe Creative Cloud, Sage, AutoCAD, and some games don't work. What laptops can you install on? +
Most standard Windows laptops from Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, and similar brands work well. Intel Macs from before 2021 also work. Microsoft Surface, Chromebooks, iPads, tablets with detachable keyboards, and Apple Silicon Macs (M1/M2/M3) are not compatible. Use our checker on the Contact page if you're unsure.
How long does it take? +
From the day we receive your laptop, turnaround is typically 2–4 business days. Add 2–5 days each way for Australia Post postage. Most customers have their laptop back within 10–14 days of ordering. We'll track your job and keep you updated at every stage.
Do I need to include my charger? +
For postal jobs — no, don't send your charger. We have compatible chargers in the workshop. Just send the laptop in the padded pack we provide. For local drop-off, a charger helps but isn't required.
Can I drop off locally? +
Yes — if you're in the Wollongong area you can drop off and collect in person. Select Local Pickup instead of Postal during checkout and you won't need the postage add-on. Contact us to arrange a time.
What if something goes wrong? +
Every device goes through our full QC checklist before it leaves us. If there's a hardware fault we discover during inspection, we'll contact you before proceeding. If something isn't right when you receive it back, contact us and we'll make it right.
